John W. Fannin was born and raised in Dallas,Texas. It was there he took an interest in the creative arts at a very early age. In the 1970's as a wood craftier and carver John began selling at local craft gatherings. While working with wood he also began crafting items out of anything else he could find to work with, and his art has fallen under the category of Folk or Americana ever since. Over the years he has worked with numerous mediums such as Paint, Metal , Wood and Clay and has also participated in shows and fairs from Texas to Colorado. After an opportunity arose in 1993,John moved his family to Colorado where he would have the chance to pursue a career in the arts full time.  In 2014 he relocated back to Texas where he continues to focus solely on his unique folk art pottery.
